Volunteer
We are extremely appreciative of the commitment and dedication of our volunteers. No matter how small a task may seem, the work that volunteers do is important to our operations and the services we are able to provide. By treating each assigned task with purpose and diligence, each volunteer contributes to increasing the efficiency of the organization and enables us to better serve those in need.
All of our volunteers become the public face of the organization, and the care with which volunteers deliver services reflects greatly on how we are perceived in the community. The roles that are particularly critical are those where the volunteers are working directly with the people who are seeking assistance. Our goal is to always provide respect, understanding, compassion, courtesy, and kindness, regardless of whether or not we are able to assist.
Training is provided for all volunteers and expectations are discussed in detail to ensure that everyone is fully comfortable with their position and the time and/or talent that is required. Some positions require strong computer skills, the ability to lift 30+ pounds, or a minimum time commitment. An opportunity to provide your interests, skills, limitations, and availability is included in the Volunteer Application.
