Education

Behind all that we do is the desire to make a long-term difference in the lives we touch.  We believe that, through education, we have the greatest chance of making a positive impact on each person’s ability to attain self-sufficiency.  In some cases, we may require participation in a Living Basics Class (LBC).  With a variety of curricula to soon be available, individuals will be able to choose the classes that are most relevant to them.

Based on survey responses from our current clients, curricula are currently being developed in the following areas.  Each class will run no more than an hour and a half.

Available Courses

  • Couponing/Shopping From a Grocery Store Flyer
  • Nutrition
  • Budget and Finance
  • Job Readiness

Beginning in 2014, we will offer the option of taking a 12-week course on Finance and Budgeting.  This will include regular follow-up on a personal budget, adherence to that budget, dealing with issues that impact the budget, and reaching a point where accumulating savings can be possible.

The Job Readiness class will also have multiple sessions and will follow a curriculum utilized by Tri-District Adult Education.

Tri-District Adult Education

Clover Area Assistance Center is proud to partner with Tri-District Adult Education.  Tri-District offers several classes locally that help individuals attain life goals.  We believe in the quality and effectiveness of these classes and, for CAAC clients, we will pay course fees and cover materials and testing costs.  Listed here is a very brief description of the opportunities available at Tri-District Adult Education.  For more information, CAAC clients can call 803.810.8440.  A referral from CAAC is needed to be able to receive financial assistance.

Prior to taking a class, Tri-District requires an assessment.  These assessments are offered every Monday at 8:30am and 5:30pm. An assessment is not required for computer classes.
